Welcome to PiliBox — a free, anonymous collection of IT tools published and edited by Vixepti. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the PiliBox website and all tools made available through it. By using PiliBox, you agree to be bound by these Terms in full. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please stop using the service immediately.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using PiliBox, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using PiliBox on behalf of a third party, you warrant that you have the authority to accept these Terms on their behalf. These Terms may be updated from time to time; continued use of the site after any such update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The date shown at the top of this page indicates when these Terms were last modified.
2. Description of Service
PiliBox is a free, publicly accessible online platform that provides a range of IT-related tools. PiliBox is published and edited by Vixepti, an individual based in France, and is made available free of charge.
There are two types of tools on PiliBox:
2.1 Client-Side Tools
Some tools run entirely in your browser. When you use a client-side tool, all processing takes place locally on your device. No data, file, or content is ever transmitted to our servers. This means your input remains private and under your control at all times.
2.2 Server-Side Tools
Other tools require temporary server-side processing. When you use a server-side tool, the data or file you upload is transmitted to our servers solely to process your request. The following rules apply specifically to server-side tools:
- Uploaded files and input data are stored temporarily and only for the time strictly necessary to process your request.
- All uploaded files are automatically deleted within 30 minutes at the latest after processing is complete.
- In addition to per-request deletion, a daily automatic cleanup runs at midnight as a safety net, removing any leftover temporary files or tasks that are no longer in progress (e.g., in the event of an unexpected crash or error).
- No uploaded data is stored beyond these cleanup processes.
- No user account, login, or authentication is required to use any PiliBox tool.
3. User Responsibilities and Acceptable Use
You agree to use PiliBox only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not use PiliBox:
- to upload, process, or share any content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable;
- to attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems or networks;
- to generate or distribute malware, spam, or malicious code;
- in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our infrastructure; or
- in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that any content you submit through PiliBox does not infringe the rights of third parties and complies with all applicable laws.
4. Intellectual Property
The PiliBox website design, branding, text, code (excluding any third-party open-source components), and original content are the editorial creation of Vixepti. All such elements are made available for personal use only. You may not copy, modify, redistribute, or claim ownership of any PiliBox content without prior written permission from Vixepti.
The tools provided through PiliBox may incorporate or rely on third-party open-source libraries or components. The rights associated with those third-party components remain governed by their respective open-source licenses.
5. Donations — "Buy Me a Coffee"
PiliBox may display a "Buy Me a Coffee" donation button. All payments through this feature are processed entirely by the third-party Buy Me a Coffee platform. PiliBox never collects, handles, or stores any payment, banking, or financial data. Any transaction between you and Buy Me a Coffee is governed by Buy Me a Coffee's own terms of service and privacy policy, over which Vixepti has no control and no responsibility.
6. Availability and No Warranty
PiliBox is provided free of charge, on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Vixepti makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or availability. While reasonable efforts are made to keep the service running and reliable, Vixepti does not guarantee that PiliBox will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of bugs.
The results produced by PiliBox tools — such as DNS lookups, file conversions, calculations, encoding/decoding, and any other outputs — are provided for informational purposes only.
You acknowledge and agree that:
- Tool results are indicative and not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or up to date.
- Results should not be used as the sole basis for any critical, professional, legal, financial, or security decision.
- You should always independently verify any result that is important to you before acting on it.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Vixepti shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, or reputational harm — arising out of or in connection with:
- your use of, or inability to use, PiliBox;
- any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in tool results;
- any unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your data;
- any conduct of any third party in connection with PiliBox;
- any bugs, downtime, or technical issues affecting the service.
This limitation applies regardless of whether the claim is based on contract, tort, strict liability, or any other legal theory, even if Vixepti has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
8. Changes to These Terms
Vixepti reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of PiliBox at any time, without notice. Vixepti also reserves the right to update or change these Terms at any time by posting a revised version on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of PiliBox after any such change constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you must stop using PiliBox.
